About the Artist “Teresa”

Teresa won her first art award at 10 years old for a first-place watercolor painting at the Indiana State Fair. “It was a clear vase of yellow forsythia on a round brown table with an orange background.” Since then and 8 years of art school later (4 years in high school and 4 years in college), she’s still creating. She majored in Visual Communications and minored in Photography from John Herron School of Art where she won the senior show contest and got to create the advertising postcard mailer and curate the senior class show in the campus museum. A few years later she moved to San Francisco.

Her career has mostly been in graphic design with several awards. Now, taking her lifetime of photos plus new pictures, she’s transforming them into digitally painted works of art.

“It has been a culmination of many techniques over the years. When I paint digitally, the old school training still applies in lighting, perspective, patterns, colors and originality. Composition of the photo is the first and foremost important aspect of transforming it into a digital photo painting masterpiece.”
